Commentary Without that rule, the Chiefs and Bills might still be playing Last weekend’s NFL Divisional playoffs were astonishing. Four games. Four winners. Four woulda, shoulda, coulda winners but for one last play (except for, of course, the Packers, who absolutely should have lost to the 49ers). Winning margins of 3, 3, 3 and 6.Continue reading “The Greatest Football Game of All-Time will, unfortunately, be remembered for a not-so-great rule”
Commentary As the SF 49ers play their last regular season game/first pre-post-season game, are they back too? Around the Block has been pretty quiet the last few weeks. Perhaps it’s because of the holidays. More likely it’s due to self-inflicted trauma after realizing, and writing about the fact “we’re not in danger of losing ourContinue reading “Around the Block is back! Did you know it was gone?”
Commentary Or at least San Francisco’s lonely eyes! Note: My guess is that this story will be of limited interest to most Around the Block readers. The name change comes after years of criticism that the current moniker is racist and disrespectful to Native Americans. The nameContinue reading “Cleveland Indians changing name to Cleveland Guardians”
Five days after the San Francisco 49ers blew a 10-point fourth quarter lead in Super Bowl LIV, Around the Block can reveal to the world one of the reasons for the team’s collapse.
Here’s the real story.
During the national anthem at his own Super Bowl watch party Sunday night, Trump raises both of his hands in the air, and twirls them around as if conducting the music.
The 49er’s are playing in their first “Big Game” since Super Bowl XLVII in 2013 with Jimmy G a big reason why.
Their turnaround this season offers hope to fans of beleaguered teams everywhere.
