I’m writing about these two “esteemed” senators today because they’ve both recently been in the news – Cruz for his very publicized sojourn to the Southern border; Rubio for his not so well-known concerns about UFOs.

To Fly or Not to Fly? That is the question.
Social media posts carrying the hashtags #BoycottDelta, and #BoycottCocaCola have proliferated on Twitter, with #BoycottDelta one of the top trending hashtags on Twitter.
Why is #Boycott Delta being out tweeted by the others?
“The Filibuster Journals” The worst thing Aaron Burr did.
The baddest of the bad, Hamilton’s one-time idol and mentor, was the Vice President of the United States, Aaron Burr, who challenged Hamilton to a duel and, in the process, killed him.
Guess who’s responsible for the filibuster?
The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia
You see, folks, on Thursday, March 25, 2021, thanks to the fine Republicans in Georgia’s legislature and to that model governor, Brian Kemp, the lights went out in Georgia.
One of these things is not like the others…
Many of you may remember the great Sesame Street song, “One Of These Things Is Not Like The Others.” Incongruously, I thought of that song as I watched, and then read, the coverage of yet another mass shooting in America, this time in Boulder, Colorado.
February 23, 2021 – a date that will live in disgrace, shame, disrepute and odium!
Commentary Thanks, Ron Johnson, for not making our day. On January 7, 2021, I posted an Around the Block headlined, January 6, 2021, a date that will live in ignominy! Ivanka Trump won’tContinue reading “Ivanka and Marco sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g”
“Why can’t Democrats work with Republicans?”…Wait, what?
Commentary Around the Block responds to an Op-Ed published in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. (Note: A 150-word version of this post was sent to the Sun-Sentinel as a letter to the editor.) Just when I thought I’d read it all, the Sun-Sentinel publishes a syndicated (Tribune Group) Op-Ed from Ramesh Ponnuru of Bloomberg Opinion, “WhyContinue reading ““Why can’t Democrats work with Republicans?”…Wait, what?”
He said, he said…
Commentary But whatever he said, Kevin McCarthy’s not going to tell you about it! Numerous news outlets have reported that then President Donald Trump and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) had a telephone screaming match when the then president refused to call off Capitol rioters.
