We cannot wait any longer

A mere four days ago I wrote a piece which included a satirical riff on Vice President Mike Pence’s approach to invoking the 25th Amendment. https://around-the-block.com/2020/04/20/around-the-block-this-and-that/

Since then things have deteriorated to a point no one could have imagined.

Since then, the President of the United States suggested injecting light and disinfectant into people’s bodies to “cure” Covid-19.

His comments, at his daily Coronavirus Task Force Rally, were so horrific, it forced the makers of Lysol to issue the following statement:

His comments were so horrific, that Dr. Deborah Birx was seen virtually quivering in shock as he was talking.

Since then, a Vanity Fair exposé detailed that he wanted to flood NY and NJ with chloroquine.

I’m sure there are more Trump horrors I’ve missed. But you get the point. This has to stop! And there’s only one remedy left to remove this other pandemic we’re facing, this “cancer on the Presidency:” The 25th Amendment!

“In Case of the Removal of the President from Office, or of his Death, Resignation, or Inability to discharge the Powers and Duties of the said Office, the Same shall devolve on the Vice President, and the Congress may by Law provide for the Case of Removal, Death, Resignation or Inability, both of the President and Vice President, declaring what Officer shall then act as President, and such Officer shall act accordingly, until the Disability be removed, or a President shall be elected.”

Now, I know there are those of you out there saying, invoking the 25th Amendment is too drastic; the election is only months away. You’re right. In fact as of this writing, the election is precisely 192 days away.

Have you thought about how much more damage Trump can do in 192 days, 15 hours and 27 minutes?

Think about it.

Think about how many citizens will have listened to him yesterday, injected Clorox or Lysol into their bodies, and DIED!

Think about the next bit of hokum this huckster will speculate about at his upcoming, nationally televised, briefings (if only they were brief).

Think about how much longer the experts, Fauci, Birx and others can sit there and squirm as he throws out his latest “snake oil” remedy.

Think about it.

But more importantly, figure out a way to get Pence and the rest of the Cabinet to not only think about, it but do something about it. Because, they’re the only ones who can get it done!
