I’m mad as hell and I’m not gonna take this anymore!

Commentary

The recent news has been mind-bogglingly frightful. And then…

Perhaps I subscribe to too many newspapers and magazines. Perhaps 24-hour cable news is too many hours. But, I don’t know about you and, with apologies to William Shakespeare, “there’s something rotten in the state of America.”

A sampling of recent headlines:

And, unfortunately, it’s not just America that’ rotten:

Demonstrations are troubling especially because of how they reflexively insult the memory of the past, and the Holocaust in particular

But back to us, and picking up on the French theme:

(Did I mention that Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, is Jewish?)

(I bet many of them are on this list and in this picture):)

And then this…

(courtesy of Vanity Fair, because The New York Times would never print this headline):

Yay!!! A headline I can believe in!

(Am I allowed to say, “Go, girl?)

  1. I echo your top-of-the-page headline except that sadly I HAVE to take it.
I could turn off TV and cancel my papers but won’t.
    It’s just too unbelievable.

  2. Started to laugh (actually smile) until I realized the truth in what you were writing :(. How sad!
