That was going to be it.
But then, as a public service, I thought I’d provide a little context.
ABC News reported, “As the number of Americans impacted by the deadly coronavirus continues to climb, some voters looking for decisive action are turning to state leaders for guidance– chief among them, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, whose daily press conferences and emphatic communication style has gradually captivated audiences across the nation over the last month.
“Ardent supporters of Cuomo are seeking to plant presidential seeds online…”
Today, I turn Around the Block over to Bob Cesca of Salon.com and his essay, “Donald Trump’s murder math: Any death toll under 2 million is a ‘very good job.'”
The conventional wisdom with Donald Trump is that at some point he’d hit bottom; he’d say or do something so dreadful, so vile, so nasty that it couldn’t be topped (well, actually, “bottomed”).
It’s possible that on Sunday he reached that bottom when he suggested that hospitals have been hoarding ventilators and that something more nefarious* may be afoot when it comes to their mask supplies.
On Feb. 3, I sent a letter to Marco Rubio regarding his impeachment removal vote; I received his reply today. I wondered how he feels about that vote 8 weeks later. So, I wrote to him again.
Some of you might remember MSNBC had a promotional tagline a few years ago, “We Watch Fox So You Don’t Have To.”
They dropped that line several years ago. But today, Max Boot, an Op-Ed columnist for The Washington Post, takes up the mantle.
Note to readers: I’m calling this column the “Broken Record Edition.” Why? Because I’m writing again about a topic I opined on only a few days ago. As regular readers know, this space can sometimes be frivolous, bordering on silly. In fact some readers call the posts, “cute.” (I’m never sure how to take that “compliment.”) But this one is serious. You know, every recent presidential election has been called “the most important election in our lifetimes.” Guess what? This one really is that election – for one reason and one reason only: Donald Trump.
I was watching The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell on MSNBC the other night.
In discussing the handling of the coronavirus pandemic in the U.S. and around the world, I was taken by O’Donnell’s panel of experts.
And I noticed something…
As I do every day, this morning I watched New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s daily press conference on the Covid-19 pandemic.
As usual, Cuomo was informative and serious (with a bit of humor thrown in every once-in-while to break the tension). His presentation today, like all the others, was organized. Using graphic assists where appropriate, he made his pronouncements with confidence, authority and, most important, veracity.
Yesterday, I sent a letter to my Congresswoman, Lois Frankel in which I forwarded an Around the Block post, 2020 Election: American Nightmare?
Based on the events of the last 24 hours, I sent another letter to Congresswoman Frankel today. I’d like to share that letter with you as well.
