In an astonishing video, The Washington Post reconstructed the pandemonium inside the Capitol for the video in this post. The Post examined text messages, photos and hundreds of videos, some of which were exclusively obtained. By synchronizing the footage and locating some of the camera angles within a digital 3-D model of the building, The Post was able to map the rioters’ movements and assess how close they came to lawmakers — in some cases feet apart or separated only by a handful of vastly outnumbered police officers.
I don’t know if non-Post subscribers can access the video. I hope you can. This reconstruction, along with The New Yorker video I posted earlier, are incredible documentations of the day I called in a column last week, “a date that will live in infamy – a day that could be considered the worst day in the history of our formerly great democratic republic.”
