At the encouragement of many readers, I sent the following letter to my Congresswoman, Lois Frankel. In the letter, I forwarded the latest Around the Block, 2020 Election: American Nightmare?

I thought you might be interested in reading the letter.
Dear Congresswoman Frankel,
I’ve corresponded with you before and appreciate the dialogue.
As I’ve mentioned in previous correspondence, I write a blog, “Around the Block,” in which I comment on many topics, including politics and the state of our nation.
Today’s post deals with the coronavirus pandemic and projects out, through my imagination, its impact on the 2020 election with Trump in charge. Although the projection is in the form of a fictional “nightmare,” given the character and actions of our current president, it is not entirely beyond the realm of possibility. Remember, Sinclair Lewis long ago wrote the book and play “It Can’t Happen Here”…but to some degree, it did!
While I’m not sure this correspondence allows embedded websites, I’ll try anyway.

I’d obviously like to send this correspondence to my other elected representatives in Washington, but alas, I fear it will fall on deaf ears with Senators Rubio and Scott.
In any event, my writing will continue. My support of Democrats and democratic ideals will continue. And my calling out Trump and his sycophants in the media, in his Cabinet and in Congress will continue.
I appreciate your continued representation of our district and look forward to your telephone Town Hall later today.
In the meantime, please stay safe.
Sincerely,
Theodore (Ted) Block

Love the refrigerator warning……definitely a hazard! Share with you your apprehension that our democratic traditions are at risk under our present administration…..just the thought of the President continuing without a time limit……well I won’t share the word that reflects my feelings…..but suffice it to say, that scenario is frightening!

Read today’s column where I pointed out that Jon Meacham referenced the same nightmare in his Times’ Op-Ed this morning. Keep the faith!
