Trump: Sentence “horrible and unfair;”

The Washington Post and the New York Times both reported today that in an unusual step, the Justice Department will back off its sentencing recommendation for Roger J. Stone Jr., President Trump’s former campaign adviser and longtime friend. A department spokesman said that senior department officials intervened to overrule front-line prosecutors who tried the case.
Earlier on Tuesday, Mr. Trump declared the sentencing recommendation “horrible and very unfair, tweeting, “This is a horrible and very unfair situation. The real crimes were on the other side, and nothing happens to them. Cannot allow this miscarriage of justice!”
Neither the Times nor the Post reported what the revised sentence will be. But Around the Block can!
In a stunning example of journalistic “scoopsmanship,” Around the Block, the only source of news before the news actually happens, can report that the new sentence for Stone, signed off personally and with a flourish by Attorney General William “Lower the Bar” Barr will be:*
- Charge lowered to a misdemeanor;
- Sentence to be two months in jail to be served by Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff in place of Stone;
- Six months of Community Service for both Mitt Romney and Joe “Munchkin” Manchin
- An additional six months of remedial reading classes for Senator Manchin based on Trump’s characterization of him as, “too stupid to understand a transcript of his (Trump’s) telephone call with President Zelensky of Ukraine.”
Following the DOJ reversal on Stone, three of those front-line federal prosecutors working on the case withdrew their participation.
News update (not with a twist): All 4 prosecutors in the Roger Stone case have now either resigned or withdrawn.
And, in an upcoming interview, Senator Susan Collins told Around the Block, “I think Trump has learned his lesson.”

Look, it just shows…Trump, as president, can do whatever he wants. (Thanks, Alan Dershowitz) And in this case he wanted Stone’s sentence reduced. After DOJ actually does reduce the sentence, Trump will then pardon him. And we’ll all live happily ever after. What a country!

Yikes….I shall refrain from using the 4 letter word that is on the tip of my tongue……love your commentary and though I am laughing……..deeeep inside I am quite saddened by all of this craziness that is occurring in our “democracy!”

Keep laughing…it’s only the beginning. I won’t be surprised when the next move by Trump on Stone will be a pardon. Because that’s really something a president can do. Don’t even need Dershowitz to approve.
